Wake me up when some actual gameplay videos show up. The trailer was nice, but I was expecting something more interesting to happen during the panel.

Slightly disappointed, to be honest.

I agree. The trailer wasn't as impressive as i wanted it to be. The visuals were the only thing that looked good in the trailer. Until gameplay is shown, All expectations are very low

Lol you guys complain about No Gameplay at least we got a trailer maybe their waiting for gameplay for E3 lol complain about every little shit.

Sorry, man. Reveal trailers just don't do it for me. We already knew the game was in progress up until now--it'd just be nice to actually see what's in store for us when we play it. An in-game cutscene doesn't sell games (though, really, it does in this day and age).

Well i think its good to complain because we don't want a repeat of Dead Island, BF4, etc...Look at Dead Island first Trailer & then look at the gameplay totally different. Look at BF4 though it looks just the trailers but the Single-Player was too short & was a broken mess then you have the multiplayer which i don't think i need to say anything. Its just we don't want to continue to see History repeat itself with a new game or a game continuing a series, etc. If we(the gamers) don't speak up, then the devs will think its ok to show CGI trailers with no gameplay & then gameplay looks like shit. Like i said above my expectations are very low & now i know there is no Campaign just short missions with couch/online co-op & the MP being the main focus, i don't know if i could get excited. I hope this game does well but doesn't turn out like Titanfall where it the mp was good up to a point then it died. If the mp for BF is good then dies, EA will know about & it will hurt their Rep even more.

In no way am i disrespecting you, i just don't agree with your opinion as i just want to clarify more on the subject at hand. But feel free to contribute more & we can have a nice calm discussion

They probably wanted to save the gameplay for E3.

I doubt EA has anything good apart from a in-engine Mass Effect 4 trailer, another trailer for Mirror's Edge 2, a teaser for Visceral's Star Wars game, NFS and a shit load of sports games. Showing the gameplay at E3 should save the conference.

New Info

"Battlefront" will focus on frenzied shoot-outs between up to 40 players portraying Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire forces. In a demonstration of the game's multiplayer mode, a team of jetpack-equipped rebels were shown carving their way through the woodsy Endor while Stormtroopers charged at them on foot, on speeders and within walkers, including a hulking AT-AT war machine.

Other locales teased in game footage included the snowy Hoth, sandy Tatooine and gooey Sullust, a lava-spewing planet referenced in 1983's "Return of the Jedi," as well as many "Star Wars" games and novels, but rarely ever seen. "Battlefront" won't solely be centered on expendable ground troops. The game will reward sharpshooters with the ability to embody such iconic characters as bounty hunter Boba Fett and Sith baddie Darth Vader on the battlefield.

"You can storm in as the Dark Lord himself," said "Battlefront" design director Niklas Fegraeus. "You can wield a lightsaber. You can Force choke the rebel scum, which is fun. Basically, you are the boss of the battle. This means that you, as Vader, can lead your team to victory — if you play well."

The action will also take to the skies with players engaging in dogfights with TIE Fighters, X-wings and the Millennium Falcon, though the developers were coy about how battles would alternate between ground and air combat.

"We wanted it to feel authentic to this universe," said "Battlefront" executive producer Patrick Bach. "You can get into these vehicles, from speeder bikes to X-wings, TIE fighters, AT-STs, AT-ATs. There's a wide range of vehicles that we wanted to realize. The difficulty with a game is that they need to be balanced with the troops on the ground."

"Battlefront" will also include a free downloadable level available two weeks before "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters Dec. 18. It's set on Jakku, the battle-scarred desert planet glimpsed in "Force Awakens" teasers. The expansion, dubbed "Battle of Jakku," will explore the moment following "Return of the Jedi" when the New Republic confronted Imperial holdouts on the previously unseen Outer Rim enclave.

"You never get to see it in the new movie, so it was this brilliant opportunity to recreate the Battle of Jakku, which you only see the remnants of in the movie," said Bach. "In the game, you actually get to play the Battle of Jakku. It's the same place from the new movie but 30 years earlier."

... Additional Info:
-Has two player splitscreen
-It sounds like there isn't a traditional campaign and something more akin to spec-ops from CoD
-Modes vary from 8 players to 40 players
-You can toggle between first and third person
-There's flyable vehicles but no space battles
-The 7 minute demo was on PS4, but there's no mention of the forthcoming trailer platform

It also seems Sony's got the Marketing rights.

It's a bit confusing as to why they decided to opt out of space battles. They said that they would rather focus on the planetary immersion of the wonderful Star Wars environments, but...no space battles? Those were probably the most iconic scenes of the movie series. Oh well. I'm still going to be optimistic but it will be a bummer.

NeoGaf seems to believe that the Space Battles are being left for a sequel or lock behind future DLC/Expansions. Doesn't seem to hard to believe I mean this is still an EA game. In my opinion, EA probably has another Star Wars game being developed that is focusing solely on Space Battles.

Oh God. I highly doubt that EA would risk doing something that catastrophic. I get it that EA is a horrible and shady company that cares more about making money than providing quality games and making their players happy. But If space battles were being kept out for the sake of making a quick buck, especially considering that said space battles were part of the previous games? There would be no coming back from it. Let's look at a few things.

-No Space Battles

-Only 4 Planets at launch

-No Clone Wars Era

-No classes

-No Campaign

-No Galactic Conquest

-AT-ATs are on rails(For those who don't know what that means, they will travel along a predetermined path as opposed to players controlling them)

The Star Wars fan in me wants to stay excited but I can't help but feel that things might not be what I'm expecting. I'll wait till E3 for the gameplay videos so we'll see.

Am I the only one not really bothered by the lack of a "real" campaign? Don't get me wrong, I am primarily a single-player gamer who loves great stories and well-made campaigns. But did anyone, going into this game, want either a retelling of the movies or a hokey made-up story that strings all the set pieces together?

The approach they're taking is perfect, IMO. No story to hook all the battles together, but each battle has its own individual objectives and story. Self-contained and straight to the point.

The only real disappointment I have is that there won't be any space battles. I would kill for a recreation of the Battle of Yavin made in this game. Imagine the Death Star trench run!

I'm slightly bothered by it mainly because the Star Wars franchise lends itself to having one of the deepest, most interesting, and complex story lines in all of modern day science fiction. As a fan, naturally, I'd love to see and experience it's retelling through a video game. It puts you directly into the scene as either sides of the faction and allows you to see a side of the Star Wars universe that just couldn't be conveyed through the big screen. The Missions mode will most likely capture it, although it probably won't be as fleshed out as what a story mode could do.

The real tragedy here is the lack of space battles. Not sure how EA could have botched that up so royally.

No, you are not alone on that. If what Seabass says is true, that would suck. In my opinion, no galactic conquest is a real negative for me. I will still get it because of the split-screen like someone mentioned earlier. I wonder how they will handle the heroes. Will it be like BF3 and the ac-130?

Why the fuck can't I post? Been trying to post some stuff but it hasn't been going through.

Edit: Holy shit, that was annoying. Anyways... Wow, I can't post links? I get this message when I try to post links: "This comment can no longer be edited. It may have been moved or deleted, or too much time may have passed since it was posted for it to be edited."

I was trying to post a few tidbits of info: AT-STs are fully controllable, we will have more than 8 maps, and there was an in game screen shot released today showing first person and third person views.

2 player splitscreen? I am fucking sold. That is all I need to know.

I'd like to quote myself, because I recently learned there will be no Space battles, even though that was a staple of the second game in the series.

This is incredibly disappointing as it would have been easy to implement a greatly improved version of the space battles from battlefront 2. This game as it stands is pretty much Battlefront 1. So while mechanics and graphics will be greatly improved, they took a step back in what the Series will cover. Disappointing. Also if they make space battles DLC, that will further detract from the game. Might as well let that be in a sequel like the first two.

And that is just that one thing. The rest of what I am hearing has me deciding to just let this game slide.

I'll reserve my judgement for when the game comes out. Everyones getting super hyped for this game but we've only seen concept art and a CGI trailer.

Not exactly a CGI trailer like the recent Deus Ex trailer, this trailer is close to what the game will look like because is running on the actual engine but I'm pretty sure it'll be a bit downgraded by the time it is released.

And the weakest excuse that I keep saying for the lack of space battles is, "Space battles weren't that great in Battlefront 2! DICE didn't want to waste their time!" I call bullshit on that simply because they could have worked on bettering that aspect. People are assuming that space battles would be just be a jumbled mess of TIE fighters aimlessly flying or crashing in space but I think that with some creativity, space battles could be done really well even with the scale of players in DICE games.

Plus Boarding actions was fun as well. So many things about Space battles were great. It wouldn't have been too hard for them. It was a time thing. EA most likely didn't want them to spend the time to do that. Lowers the profit margin. If they actually gave us a game with too much content how would they ever make their money back!/sarcasm
