sateler96
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem - Review (2023) The Good Jeff Rowe's Direction in hsi directorial debut coming off his writing duty from The Mitchells vs. the Machines The Screenplay from Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Jeff Rowe, Dan Hernandez, and Benji Samit. The fantastic Voice cast, Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon as the 4 Ninja Turtles, Jackie Chan as Splinter, Ayo Edebiri as April O'Niel, Ice Cube as Superfly, Seth Rogen and John Cena as Bebop and Rocksteady. The Animation is gorgeous, as it takes notes like Spider-Verse and Puss in Boots 2, but makes its animation its own. The Action Sequences are beautiful. It has a good characteration and message for kids. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross' Fantastic Musical Score, its crazy that 9 Inch Nails does the music for this. The Pacing is perfect. Easter Eggs and Pop Culture references work. The Mixed Some Purist will be mad about the change to the lore, but honestly theres always a different versions of the turtles and the other characters and the lore is always changed so for me personally it wasn't a issue. The Bad While the comedy is great, i did want more darker serious moments, naybe in the series and sequel will do that, but thats just me. Final Thoughts: TMNT: Mutant Mayhem is easily the best TMNT film to date even though i love the first 2 films. Overall Grade: A+

sateler96
The Meg 2: The Trench - Review (2023) The Good Jason Statham is fine in the movie. The 3rd Act is pretty fun but not worth the wait. The Bad Ben Wheatley's Direction isn't cause this feels like a studio made film. Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, and Dean Georgaris Screenplay is terrible with some of the worst writing this year. Ripoffs Deep Blue Sea and Underwater They try to do a story that no one cares for. Other characters i don't care for. Corporate characters and deepsea mining. Statham vs. The Shark inly last about 15 minutes. Most of the movie is very bory with barely anything happening until the end. The Visual Effects are terrible. The editing is ass. TAME PG-13 Rating and the kills are LAME AS FUCK. Final Thoughts: The Meg 2 should of been a dumb fun shark movie, cause its never gonna be Jaws, but it could of been fun and it isn't ITS FUCKING BORING. Overall Grade: F
sateler96
Gran Turismo - Review (2023) The Good Neill BHarbour's Direction is actually solid which is good too see after how bad Chappie and Demonic was his visual style works for the movie. Zach Baylin and Jason Hall screenplay. Archie Madekwe, David Harbour, and Orlando Bloom all give really good performances. Creative nods to the games. The Cars. The 2nd Half of the Movie is much better than the first. Racing Sequences are great. The Mixed The First half is very slow and paint by numbers bordering generic. The Bad It is ver hokey. The Pacing the movie could of shaved some of its runtime. A romance that goes no where. Whenever were not focusing on racing its pretty boring. The Score is pretty generic. Final Thoughts: Gran Turismo is much better than what i thought it was gonna be, but its not a movie I'd ever watch again unlike many biopics. Overall Grade: C+

sateler96
Blue Beetle - Review (2023) The Good Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes / Blue Beetle is obviously the best part of the movie and he easily carries th movie on his back. Ángel Manuel Soto is Decent The Family Aspect is good Bobby Krlic's score. The 2nd half of the movie is pretty decent Mixed Mid Credit Scene teases for something for a sequel, but i feel it will just be for nothing. The Bad 1st half of the movie is just meh paint by numbers origin story. The Visual Effects are Hit and Miss Susan Sarandon and Raoul Max Trujillo are generic forgettable villains. The humor is very hit or miss. Copies alot from Iron Man and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) The Post Credit Scene is a waste of time. Final Thoughts: Blue Beetle isn't terrible, but its not great either nor a big win DC needs right now and this doesn't feel like a start of a new Universe for the DCU like wht Superman: Legacy is shaping up to be this just feels like a paint by numbers superhero movie that we have seen before. Overall Grade: C

MDCFAN101
I just got back from seeing the Blue Beetle movie and I'm going to start off by saying whoever edited and released the trailers for the film should be fired ASAP because they did not represent this movie with justice. The reason I say this because what I saw in my local movie theater was a completely and utterly different animal. I'll get into this more in upcoming rant on Random Thoughts. So stay tuned for that ok. Thoughts/Impressions: I absolutely loved the story. The writing was very, very good IMO. The acting was top notch. Xolo Marideuna was phenomenal as Jaime Reyes. He was easily the best character in the film. However, I did also love Bruna Marquezine as Jenny Kord. Oh and I loved the cast of actors and actresses that played Jaime's family. They were terrific as well especially the grandma. She was a pistol. Granted, I did feel that George Lopez's character was very annoying at times, but that was something I expected. However, the worst character in the film IMO was Victoria Kord played by the legendary Susan Sarandon. She was a stereotypical evil, egotistical, conniving, manipulative, greedy, and selfish bitch. As for the other antagonist, Ignacio Carapax, he was pretty decent and sympathetic. The CGI, visuals, and special effects were actually really good compared to how they shown in the trailers. The action and fight sequences were awesome. The comedy was solid. The movie's score was great. Angel Manuel Soto's direction was very good IMO. However it does lose a few points for a "paint by the numbers" comic book/superhero film. Nonetheless, it is among the best I've seen especially when it comes to DC. Last but not least; IT'S NOT FUCKING WOKE!!! Overall: Blue Beetle is an excellent movie that has no business being a flop. It is as of right now the DC Comics film of the year. Please go see this movie and spread the good word (if you come out loving the film like I did). Grade: A

sateler96
Slotherhouse - Short Review (2023) This knew exactly what it was a dumb as fucker slasher movie that is so absurd that is definitely a good time if you get high, but i thi k they should of upped the gore and not make a montage of the kills. Overall Grade: C+ The Last Voyage of the Demeter - Short Review Acting is solid, shot very well, it's just very un interesting Dracula movie, that teases a sequel that will never happen Overall Grade: C Retribution - Short Review (2023) In all honesty it's just anohter generic Liam Neeson movie that tries to be Taken or his other generic movies he has, but just not as interesting or good Overall Grade: C-
sateler96
The Blackneing - Short Review (2023) The Satire of horror tropes and ethnic stereotypes, i thought the whole cast was great and really funny, Tim Story finally made a great movie since his Barbershop films, its just a dumb fun horror comedy. sateler96
The Nun II - Review (2023) The Good Taissa Farmiga and Storm Reid definitely try with a weak ass script. The Bad The Nun was a jump scare galore boring ass horror movie that no one asked for a sequel too and somehow we still got one now this time directed by Michael Chaves who did 2 other awful Connuring Universal movies The Curse of La Llorona and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It The story is just un interesting. Lame Jump Scares. The Nun has only been terrifying in Conjuring 2 every where else has just ruined what makes it terrifying. The Post credit scene just seems forced and unnecessary and doesn't add anything to this shit fest of a franchise. Final Thoughts: Sadly this movie will still make money and we will still be getting lazy films in this franchise, don't waste your money go watch Talk to Me a better horror movie. Overall Grade: D-

sateler96
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 - Short Review (2023) The performances were all good, the story was sweet, but felt very rushed, the pacing was very quick, the editing was ass, Nia Vardalos Direction and writing was a mess. I still think there should of just been a first film instead of a trilogy. Oberall Grade: D+
sateler96
Expendables 4 - Review (2023) The Good The Cast are good Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Megan Fox, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Tony Jaa The Bad Iko Uwais is a very generic villain and wasted which is depressing since hes so badass in The Raid films Andy Garcia is wasted. 50 Cent is terrible. Scott Waugh's awful direction. The Writing is horrible and alot of it doesn't even make sense. Terrible action. The Cheap Production Final Thoughts: I Have no idea how this made it to theaters cause should be in the $5 bin at Walmart Overall Grade: F-
sateler96
Saw X - Review (2023) The Good Tobin Bell gives his best performances of the entire series and his character gets more fleshed out unlike past films. Kevin Greutert's Direction which is wierd since Saw VI is underated and Saw 3D is the worst in the franchise. The Vengeance Story is simple and straightforward and less convoluted like past films. The writing seems to be the best in the series as well. The Traps are mostly great , but its not the main focus or just doing the movie just for the traps just like the first film.. The run time being longer helps the story. The Bad Synnøve Macody Lund who is the movie's villain is basically a cartoon. The Trap on the poster is used as a fantasy tatic and never really happens and the final trap is meh. The Post Credit Scene is just to set up things we already know in the other movies. You still kinda feel like did this really add anything to the franchise since we all know Jigsaw is dead and most the characters obviously die. Final Thoughts: Saw X is a good Saw film, which shocks me and it being one of the best Saw movies. Overall Grade: B+
