sateler96
The Exorcist: Believer - Review (2023) The Good The Performances are fine mainly Leslie Odom Jr. and Lidya Jewett are the better developed family other than what i call "The White Family" The Production is good and its Shot very well. The performances of the 2 girls as possessed are decent obviously trying to copy the original. Theres one and only one creepy scene of imagery that is never use again. The Bad David Gordon Green's Direction and his writing with Peter Sattler is awful you can at least try and see the love for Halloween when he directed those 3 movies and wrote them, even with the awful choices he had with Kills and Ends, but with this you don't feel the love or respect of The Exorcist at all tok the point it could even be offensive and lazy. The writing is so lazy and awful that it treats you like a fucking moron to the point where the movie hints at something for you to figure out only for the characters to just say immediately like your an idiot. "The White Family" set of characters don't really get any character development so I don't really care. Ellen Burstyn as the returning Chris MacNeil as the Legacy character who just is there as a cameo who really doesn't add anything to the movie at all, even the actress said no to the movie many times after seeing the script and offered the most money she has ever gotten to the point she finally said yes after they offered to help her cause. I'll even spoil that even Linda Blair as Regan who is just there at the end and also doesn't add to the movie. Terrible editing. Jump Scare Galore that isn't scary what so ever. The 3rd Act where it gets into crazy Exorcism shit is like the coming together of all religions and community messaging i have ever seen its like the Religion Avengers, its so fucking stupid and laughable. The Movie ultimately sets up a choice in the beginning where you would think could be a big payoff at the end where good ultimately wins over evil, but nope evil wins (Spoiler, but who fucking cares) The Forced obviously sequel bait last shot. Also Universal paid 400 Million for this franchise, just to make this studio made piece of shit. Overall Thoughts: Exorcist: Believer is the biggest studio made horror movie piece of shit legacy sequel that will just waste your time. Overall Grade: D-
sateler96
Pet Sematary; Bloodlines - Short Review (2023) A Pointless Prequel of a story we heard of from the Book, Movie and Remake that doesn't add anything at all we know what happens to the characters that show up in the original so we know who lives and dies so this is just a giant waste of time with some good direction. Overall Grade: D+
sateler96
Killers of the Flower Moon - Review (2023) The Good Martin Scorsese's Direction Duh, I don't have to say more about it. Leonardo DiCaprio gives one of his best performances of his career some may say this may be his best, I'm not for sure myself, but its definitely fantastic and he will easily get a Best Actor Nomination. Robert De Niro also gives his best performance in YEARS and easily one of the best villain characters and will also should get a Best Supporting Actor Nomination. Lily Gladstone is also really great and she may even win Best Actress at the Oscars, cause shes the favorite and she may destroy the competition. The Screenplay from Martin Scorsese and Eric Roth is great and surprisingly has alot of humor in it, But its also has alot of gut wrenching scenes in it too. The Supporting Cast from John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser, Cara Jade Myers, plus lesser known Native American actors. Production Design is great especially with a $200 Million Budget For a 206 Minute movie its well paced. Robbie Robertson's fantastic score. The 3rd Act and the Ending is great. The Mixed Jesse Plemons is fantastic, but he isn't given enough screentime and doesn't show up until 2 hours in. The Bad Nothing. Final Thoughts: Killers of the Flower Moon is a gut wrecnhing Masterpiece from Scorsese and will be a huge Contender come oscars. Overall Grade: A+

sateler96
Five Nights at Freddys (2023) - Review The Good Emma Tammi Direction was solid Performances from Josh Hutcherson, Piper Rubio, and Elizabeth Lail are decent. The faithfulness to the Animatronics looks are faithful to the games and the lore is there from the games somewhat. The Bad Some wierd questionable changes to the story The Writing in this movie was sometimes cringe. The Subplot was kinda an after thought by the end of the movie and the fate of a character we just don't really ever find out about. Matthew Lillard is very wasted in this mpvie to the point where its laughable and the reveal of what happens is very obvious and predictable. The Visuals aren't very good The Dream Sequences and choices to show the robots as kids was wierd The PG-13 Rating The Pacing was also very slow. For someone like myself who hates jump scares this didn't really have alot in it and being based on a game that is all about Jump Scares. Final Thoughts: Five Nights at Freddys is a mixed bag when it comes to the faithfulness of the game, but when it comes to being a horror movie it fails on every aspect. Overall Grade: F+

MDCFAN101
Hello True Believers and newcomers alike, I hope you are having an excelling Halloween so far. Today, I am going to give you guys a review of one of my favorite animated films from my childhood. Don't worry, it is somewhat Halloween themed. Years ago, I had dreamed about a fantasy fight between two legendary and iconic characters from different fictional universes. When I saw the coming attraction of the animated film on television, I was happy like a kid in a candy store. This animated movie is among my favorites because it brought to life that fantasy fight I had envisioned when I was younger. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: The Batman vs. Dracula - Review The Positives: The story IMO is top notch. The animation, character designs, and character models are awesome. The voice acting is excellent. You have Rino Romano as the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman, Tara Strong as the voice of Vicki Vale, Tom Kenny as the voice of the Penguin, Kevin Michael Richardson as the voice of the Joker, Alastair Duncan as the voice of Alfred Pennyworth, and Peter Stormare as the voice of Dracula. The action throughout this movie is off the chain. The Negatives: None whatsoever. Overview: The Batman vs Dracula is easily a masterpiece of an animated film IMO. If you are a fan Batman, I highly recommend this movie. Grade: A+

sateler96
The Marvels - Review (2023) The Good Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel is fantastic she is the heart of the film and the character you care about the most. Brie Larson as Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel is still great and she is a little more developed as a character Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau / Photon is great even though shes used as a magufin The chemistry of the 3 characters works. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury is still great. Nia DaCosta's Direction is fine The Mid Credit scene is fun that sets up hopefully more exciting stuff than this movie. The Post Credit scene isn't the best, but also hopefully sets up something cool. The Bad Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn is so generic shes like dollar store gender swapped Ronan the Accuser. Theres barely any plot so just blah it woyld of been better as a Ms. Marvel Season 2. The Cat Sequence is awful and stupid. The Action Sequences are meh The Visuals are hit or miss Laura Karpman's score is meh Final Thoughts: The Marvels is just ok it would of served better as a Ms. Marvel Season 2, and maybe hopefully sets up better stuff. sateler96
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes - Review (2023) The Good The Performances from everyone minus 1 was greaf Tom Blyth as Coriolanus "Coryo" Snow is the best character Viola Davis is over the top good Peter Dinklage as the creator of the Hunger Games. Francis Lawrence's Direction is solid. The Capital of Panem looks great. The Production design is great The Hunger Games while not as cool as the main series are pretty brutal and less entertainment. The Bad Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray is forgettable as fuck all she does is sing, shes not as cool as Katniss Everdeen The 3rd act is boring as fuck and rushed in pace And character development is rushed Bad Visual Effects Final Thoughts: This movie should of been a mini series instead of a film simple as that its a watchable movie at least, but you won't remember it. Overall Grade: C
sateler96
Thanksgiving - Review (2023) The Good Eli Roth's Direction Nell Verlaque is probably the only truly likeable character. The Opening Black Friday Sequence is great. The Kills and the Gore are fantastic. The Bad Everyone is very much unlikable so you just want the killer to kill everyone. The writing has never been great in any Roth movie. It was kinda predictable honestly on who the killer was. The editing in the 3rd act was very choppy. The Lazy rushed possibly sequel bait ending. Final Thoughts: Thanksgiving is a fun slasher film for the holiday, but its not gonna change the game or anything its no where on the same level as the first Halloween Overall Grade: B-

sateler96
Trolls: Band Together (2023) - Review The Good Walt Dohrn's Direction The Jokes are still funny. The Voice Cast is always great and fun from Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Kenan Thompson (who gets more to do), Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Zooey Deschanel, new editions Eric André, Daveed Diggs, Kid Cudi, Troye Sivan, Camila Cabello, and Zosia Mamet. The songs are always great. The Animation is always top notch. NSYNC's new song. The Bad The Villains while creepy looking aren't really that interesting voiced by Andrew Rannells and Amy Schumer, though cool final act battle. Some of the other characters get side lined especially the new Trolls we just met in the 2nd movie. Final Thoughts: Trolls Band Together isn't as good as first 2 movies, but its still an enjoyable fun movie for the family. sateler96
Napoleon - Review (2023) The Good Ridley Scott's direction The Battle Sequences are really good. The visuals are decent. Dariusz Wolski's Cinematography Mixed Joaquin Phoenix's performance is mixed and his take on the character is a miss. David Scarpa's script is a miss. Vanessa Kirby is good at first then forgotten. The Bad Its 2 different movies one Historical drama and one comedy. The Humor is a miss The Major Historical inaccuracies. Final Thoughts: Napoleon on a technical level is great and those should be Nominated at the Oscars, this movie and Joaquin's performance should not. Overall Grade: C-
sateler96
Wish - Review (2023) The Good Chris Pine as King Magnifico is a fun and overtop villain The Star The one stand out song Mixed Ariana DeBose as Asha i just didn't care about at all. The Animation is trying to be 2D/3D Animation trying to copy better movies like Spider-Verse, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and the new TMNT movie. Songs are hit and miss The Bad The Movie relies on Disney's classic references instead of being its own original movie. Alan Tudyk as Valentino is annoying easily his worst voiced character in Disney Animation. The Jokes are meh Got characters inspired by the Dwarfs in Snow White but not as cool. Final Thoughts: For Disney's 100th Year you would think to put out a better animated movie, but Wish is just forgettable Overall Grade: C

sateler96
The Holdovers - Review (2023) The Good Alexander Payne's Direction and i say return to form ever since directing Downsizing which sucked. David Hemingson's Screenplay The 3 Main Standouts are obviously the 3 main Actors/Actress in this movie that give great performances are Paul Giamatti (who should get a oscar nomination). Dominic Sessa (in his debut role), and Da'Vine Joy Randolph (who should also get a oscar nomination) The Humor is really used well, but the movie is very touching as well. The Cinematography from Eigil Bryld is great the choice to make the movie look like a 70's film was done well. Togetherness is really strong part of the movie. Characters grow and develop as the movie goes on. The soundtrack was great and Mark OrBad's score is great. The Bad Nothing Final Thoughts: The Holdovers is a welcome return to form for Alexander Payne and another great film in his catalog of movies and surprisingly a great film to put on for Christmas. Overall Grade: A+
