Spider-Man PS4 Discussion

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is time to talk about the recently announced Spider-Man video game exclusively for the PS4.  This was widely regarded as one of Sony's best showings during E3 2016.  The graphics, voice acting, character design, and gameplay looked amazing. 

Here is what I want in this game:

1. Open world/free roam
2. More depth on story
3. More characters
4. More content
5. More highlights of gameplay

I love Spidey, it looks really good and Insomniac has a great track record for making strong games, but I was surprised by it's exclusivity and bummed to see such a beloved character locked to one console. You don't see franchises like Spider-Man get locked to a single system too often.

Well to try and get this back on topic so far from what I have seen it looks really good especially since I have been wanting a very good Spiderman game (ex: Spiderman 2, Spiderman Web of Shadows) hopefully this lives up

Since this is a thread about the Spiderman PS4 title recently shown at E3, I'm not going to end this post off topic so:

Not much to really say, its a short teaser trailer of a game that looks like a prettier version of The Amazing Spiderman Game from 2012, of which a review by Greg Miller from IGN makes his opening statement with:

"The Amazing Spider-Man isn't a great game. Its villains are b-listers, its side missions are repetitive, and its combat/reversal/stealth system is pulled from Arkham City but without the sharp, fluid animations." -Source:http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/06/26/the-amazing-spider-man-review

I like Insomniak though, the game is in development still....We'll have to see... or should I said you guys have to see. I'm not buying it.

The fact that it's in Insomniac's hands piques my interest. They did Sunset Overdrive recently, so some of the tricks they learned about open world parkour are likely to appear here. The bit where he was jumping around in that bar looked very fluid. 

Of course getting the web-slinging right will be integral to the experience, but melee combat is my bread and butter, so I also hope they nail that part. I don't really want it to be a Batman: Arkham clone in that regard, though it would be fine if they incorporated the spider sense for counters. Spidey is more acrobatic than Batman so it should feel that way while fighting. I saw a part in the trailer where he ripped out a circuit breaker with his webbing and flung it at enemies. Lots of environmental interaction like that would be fun.

Bro, you deal with the fact that we have a better understand of the character than you do.  Not many of us care about your feelings for Spidey.  He has delivered mediocrity to you for years, big fucking deal.  You don't like characters that are underdogs, that is your problem.  Spidey is fictional, but his impact and ideals are real, so there, BAM!!!!

Game looked really good, but i'm personally not a fan of Spiderman so the exclusivity isn't much of a big blow to me. Hopefully it's a game they get right.

You know, that right there is the biggest bummer.  Spider-man being a PS4 exclusive.  I personally am not a huge fan of console exclusives, they should spread the wealth around.

Not really any ideas, but I think the thread's fine. We don't know a whole lot to have much to talk about yet.
