tbh, i think Wii should have failed, and Wii U should have been a success. i myself consider the Wii a Virtual Boy 2.0, both were the first to do things (Wii did motion controls, Virtual Boy did VR) both were shit, well at least for the Wii motion plus and Zelda Skyward Sword came out, got motion controls right, and Nintendo immediately drops it.

Imagine if the Wii had been as powerful as the 360/PS3 and had the motion controls too, it would probably have at least doubled it's total sales by attracting hardcore gamers away from Microsoft/Sony, yes I agree the motion controls were a cheap gimmick, but it was a massive success,

Well for extremist PS/XBOX/PC fanboys

I am none of those things, i just call bull when I see it. It's clear that Nintendo either has no clue what their consumers want, or just doesn't listen to them. Be honest, did you want your next Nintendo Console to be portable with two slide-off shitty controllers? I'm not saying its a bad product, I'm saying nobody asked for it. I travel all across the country around the year very frequently and I have yet to see anyone at an airport, not even a kid, playing with this thing out in the wild. I've seen plenty of 3DS's though.

Wrong, it could have been the other way around. Gamecube is a prime example

Well a lot of people are liking it and buying it, which shows that Nintendo did the right thing. The JoyCons are great btw because you know....I play it lol

You call bull because all you see is bull.....Moooooooo

Well we don't know for absolute certainty, but the fact remains the Wii outsold the PS3/360 and that's despite it being a less powerful system with a cheap motion control gimmick and a inferior games library, the Gamecube didn't have a successful gimmick attached to it like the Wii did, so you can't really compare.

lets not forget Phil said gamecube's gimmick was the handle on the back of the gamecube.

Nintendo did some market research when developing the Wii and found that the number of HD TVs (at least in the US) was extremely low so it did not make sense to make an HD system. Also, you would not say "cheap motion control gimmick" if you actually played the games that used it well.

And that should show you how short-sighted they are. Yeah the number of HD TV's were low, but there was no denying that number was increasing rapidly and we were going into the High Definition era very soon back then. Why wouldn't they want to future proof their system knowing it was going to be in the market for at least 5 years? Just dumb...

Well considering PS3/360 sold at least 167 million units combined, it turned out to be a stupid decision, that was potentially 167 million sales missed out on.

The best use of motion control was Skyward Sword and I still hated it.

Does not refute the games that were well-received with motion controls

You cannot make something unless based on absolute certainity

Yeah they didn't do market research. They cut corners. They thought they could do more with less. They were wrong and by the time they realized it, it was too late.

They sold 100m + and had great games. Nothing wrong with that

Pause your Nintendo fandom man. It's blinding you considerably. You know that statement is not true with any product, or any aspect of life. Steve Jobs did not know with certainty that his Apple computer would be revolutionary. There is a way to combine market research, look at general trends of technology, and above all else KNOW MOORES LAW and apply the knowledge of these things to your product that you expect to be on the market for the next several several years. Stop being a blind fanboy man, its not good for your health. Nintendo is a company, they are going to make mistakes. If you really care and back Nintendo, then its important to acknowledge and address when they fuck up, not pretend it never happens and allow them to keep making the same mistakes as time rolls on.

Or I can ignore your dumb advice and be entitled to what I believe :P haha!

They could have had more great games if they upgraded the hardware. Plain and simple.

Maybe... Maybe not. I guess it would not have sold well and be defeated by Sony and Microsoft in sales.

Eventually you'll grow up, i just hope its mentally rather than just physically. Nintendo is a video game company that doesn't pay your bills for your completely unwavering biased stance. Its not healthy or mature to have such a stance for a piece of electronics that can play games about fictional plumber.

Hmmm.... Nah, I am fine the way I am :P BTW I have a PC, PS and Xbox so you just made a fool out of yourself

You're telling me the system would of sold less without a competitive edge?

The Wii would have sold less if it was HD (as it would be more expensive), yes

Just because you own multiple systems doesn't mean you aren't biased to one. Your Nintendo biased was clear yesterday during the stream when you asked Phil to play Mario Tennis, a throwaway Mario sports game nobody cares about. Its ok. you'll learn. You're about here as far as grieving.

Haha ya that picture is rubbish so who cares? :P and yes I like Nintendo and my measurement of fandom will not diminish because you are so desperate to harass and make me agree with you. Not happening lulz

Why are you so angry that I want Phil to play a certain game? Now look who is sensitive :D as far as people caring about it, I do. If you do not like it then do not watch, no need to be so antagonistic loool
