Why would Cry work with DSP? Cry is infinitely more popular.

Who knows? Either way, Cry has made it clear he wants to play with DSP. He would play Monster Hunter World with DSP if DSP wanted, so why not? Because he has to play Dissidia? Huh??

Imagine you were a filmmaker and Steven Spielberg or James Franco wanted to work with you, then it'd behoove you to take them up on it.

It only makes sense, and last that we all heard, it was an option. For people like me who are a fan of both, it'd be awesome!

Instead, what? Even more PUBG and then some Dissidia game I've never heard anyone talk about?

Cryotic wants to play with DSP out of satire. It would be a trollfest he doesn't really like DSP at all. I say it is a bad idea. Don't listen to these people Phil.

DSPs Twitch numbers

48,000 followers / 5 million views

Cryaotic Twitch numbers

716,000 followers / 36 million views

Cryaotic is 7x bigger than DSP on Twitch and with 2million+ subscribers on YT, 10x bigger on Youtube. Its rare for someone that is exponentially bigger than another streamer to reach down and collaborate with someone, with DSPs history of being hated by all who have crossed paths with him, damn near impossible. It's a no-brainer to CO-OP with Cry. Only thing DSP would have to do is suppress his ego, he won't be the headliner of the content he's being featured in for the first time in his career. Also having to deal with not being able to control all chat operations, he must submit to the fact there will be literally thousands of comments bringing up & laughing about his masturbation stream.

You're all wasting your time. He made $90k+ last year doing what he does. He's not going to change until people stop giving him thousands of dollars. Don't believe me? Phil's already talking about doing another "fundraiser" for his federal taxes. And why shouldn't he? He got, what, upwards of $3k for the one he just did? If you actually want Phil to change, you'll have to let your money do the talking.

And if he colabs with Cry....  He could be exposed to a larger viewer base.  This could potential grow his Twitch channel.  With the added growth he could acquire more subs or ppl willing to donate to him.  So, I let the money do the talking.  More growth could mean more money.

But what do I know.... I don’t have a business degree or do I stream on Twitch or make YT videos for a living.

At least do it for one or two streams.

This, at the BARE MINIMUM, is what he should do. There is almost no downside to doing ~2 test streams. If it bombs then oh well, the only thing lost is a few hours. The upside is a small to dramatic increase in viewership which translates to an increase in income; the thing he complains about repeatedly.

I've already made my points in the other thread. The short version is that for virtually no real cost he has the opportunity to grow his audience, possibly dramatically. Unless he wants to continue groveling to his audience every few weeks, he absolutely needs to grow his Twitch channel. Which option has the higher probability to do that; playing 2 games with questionable audience sizes or doing some co-op streams with someone who is 700% larger? Hell, he can still play those other 2 games!! Just slightly less.

To Phil's points of contention:

1) My current audience doesn't like it.

So what? They can just not watch those streams. You can still play games they like in other streams. Ignoring a huge opportunity to appease a small vocal crowd is lunacy

2) It'll throw off my schedule.

So what? You're running a business, one that's in dire straits. Sleep less for awhile, manage your time better, be more efficient, make sacrifices.  Very small, short duration changes are too much to ask? You ask your viewers for money to keep you afloat but you can't be bothered to get a little bit less sleep and dedicate a couple more hours to streaming for a few days to help yourself?

3) I could use that time to practice DBZ.

What is that REALLY going to do for you? Let's be honest; if people come out to watch you play DBZ it's going to mostly be for the salt, not a high-level breakdown of the mechanics. I'm not saying that to be an ass, it's the truth. There's nothing wrong with it either, to be clear. However you need to be honest with yourself as to why people are showing up.  With that in mind, the extra practice isn't going to matter much.

If you absolutely feel you must practice, then do it off-stream. Yes, you do have the time. Manage your time better, sleep less for awhile, etc.

4) Cry's audience will just mock me/hate me.

Of course there will be some that do. Many won't. The internet's memory is short. Most people who knew about "The Incident" don't even remember who you are. Many who watch your colab may have heard of you but never watched themselves. This would be a great chance to show what you're really about.

5) I probably won't get many new viewers.

You very well may not. Worst case is that you gain no new viewers. However, the more likely case is that you get a few more. Best case is that you drastically increase viewership. All of these scenarios come with almost no cost.

The fact that this is even a discussion is, frankly, mind blowing. Most YouTube/Twitch streamers know that one of the best ways to grow is collaborating, especially with a larger channel. The vast majority of content creators will never have an opportunity like this but would bend over backwards to make it happen. However this horse, parched and dying, has had the river brought to him but refuses to drink, all while complaining how thirsty he is.

Rambo is a long standing respected poster here, so yes.

Phil should consider everyone's opinions before he reaches a decision.

Also how hard is it to contact Cry to if he's able to stream earlier?
