I am not much of a JRPG playing person. However, one of my favorites is Chrono Trigger. I am sure that is a typical answer but whatever. I usually play western rpgs. Other ones that stick out in my mind are Lost odyssey, blue dragon, and Evolution 2 a dreamcast game. Lost odyssey is no joke.

Some years ago I tried playing a bunch of old games on an emulator, and they were for the 'Gameboy Color', I think. Three of them were RPGs.

They were "Robopon", "Azure Dreams" and the "Pokémon Jade/Diamond", (which apparently are the bootleg version of "Keitai Denjuu Telefang"/携帯電獣テレファング). I never completed them, though, maybe someday I'll play them again.

Games with cool and funny monsters are always interesting, don't you think?

Okay. Here's mine.

A) My favourite Jrpg is Evolution 2 Far off Promise.

B) I'm currently playing, Evolution 1 World of Sacred Device, which takes place, right before Evolution 2. In this game, we get to find out the mystery, of who hero girl Linear Cannon really is. I definitely have to finish the rest of this game, because the story is getting really exciting.

C) Lost Kingdoms moreso the first one in the game series, was a game that I always wanted to play, but unfortunately never did. The others are Sky's of Arcadia, Grandia 2 and Breath of Fire 4.

D) I have never played a bad Jrpg before. Probably because, I haven't played many Jrpg's. Lol!

E) I plan on playing, Skys of Arcadia and Grandia 2 soon. Both of these games, were really famous when they came out years ago, on the dreamcast.

And that's it for now.

Hey. It's amazing that after 20 years, people still talk about Chrono Trigger. And still want a sequel to it. It's a game that always gets brought up, anytime there is a jrpg discussion. I never played it yet though. And I heard about the fan game fiasco, with square enix, a few years ago.

Yeah, Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are really good games. That's a nice bunch of Jrpg games you mentioned there dude.

Also, I'm glad that someone else besides myself, remembers Evolution 2. I'm still hoping for an Evolution 3 game. I want to see how the story continues, and see if Mag Launcher will ever find his missing parents. And if he and his friends, will ever find out, the other amazing mysteries, surrounding their pal Linear Cannon. Even I was surprised, of the epic story that game had. It even puts, alot of famous jrpg stories, to shame too.

Yea, Evolution 2 game was fun when I played it but that was 10+ years ago, so I don't remember the plot at all. In addition, I cannot find my dreamcast which is unfortunate. That is cool you played Skies of Arcadia.

And probably my favorite JRPG from last year was Labyrinth of refrain. Played the Switch version and it was excellent.

I'm looking for to the RPG Zanki Zero soon, from the creators of Danganronpa

Wow! I never played Labyrinth of Refrain, or Zanki Zero before. But they look interesting.

And speaking of Danganropa, even though I am not a fan of that series, I really hope, dsp plays the next Danganropa game.

Oh yeah, some time ago I completed the game Robopon, (ロボットポンコッツ).

By the end of it, this was the team I was using. I think they're called: Sammi, Granny, Jackey & Zeppi:

There's some cute designs in the game.

Currently 54 hours into dragonquest 11, it's a pretty good jrpg and idk if you would count tales of vesperia as a jrpg but it was incredible.

Cool! I haven't played Dragon Quest 11 yet, neither Tales of Vesperia, but I plan and hope to do so soon. That Atelier Ryza 1 and 2 has caught my interest though.

I dunno if I'll ever go back to DQ11, especially now that there's a definite edition available and I'd have to rebuy it.

Nice to speak to you again, after me being absent for months.

Did you originally have DQ11, on another console eg. PS4, Xbox one etc?

Okay. So I'm thinking of playing another Jrpg. The problem is, there are so many. I have no idea which one to play.

One Pokémon title that is not known as much as the main ones is "Pokémon Conquest", it's a tactical RPG if you're into that. I don't know how much you'd like it, but I did when I played it long time ago.

If you haven't played "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky", I'd recommend that one for sure, and the music is great.

It's a Dungeon-crawl-adventure game, one of my favourites.

If you want something more retro there's "Azure Dreams" for the GBC, also a Dungeon-roguelike. I think it's also on the PlayStation but I only tried the GBC a long time ago.

It's super retro, and because I didn't finish it I don't know if there's like a difficulty spike.

Yet another Dungeon-crawler is "Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns", I guess you'd want to play the first one, but I only played the sequel/Izuna 2.

It's fun, I found a "broken" mechanic to farm Experience at a fast pace, but even then by the end it gets really tough. Specially one of the optional things if I remember correctly, like the final challenge.

I already posted about "Robopon", it's like a retro-Pokémon clone. Some people like it, some don't, when I played it I enjoyed it.

You can see my team in one of the comments up there:

Sammi.png.09044f3175caa40423d646473b7f3d12.pngGranny.png.1f9a06da9a013b7be52b1f295ba04a1b.pngJackey.png.5233a02a3580c4284443aa840136c768.pngZeppi.png.ccc2de20a3bb6d1f11b11880379328b3.png

Out of everything here, I'd say you can't go wrong with "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky". You also have to check out its soundtrack, some of my favourite music from videogames is from that one!

While we're at it, you can first play "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team", it came before Explorers of the Sky. If you try this first, I'd recommend it over the "Blue Rescue Team", (that one's like the same as Red Rescue, but it's for the DS and the music is slightly different. Red Rescue's is better in my opinion).
