MDCFAN101 here to give you guys a new interesting topic.  This topic is about me revealing to you guys many of my favorite fictional characters and the reasons why I like them.  This topic was inspired by a Youtuber known as the TheMTVernonKid.

Hey guys,

The first character I am going to talk about is one of my all time favorite cartoon characters, Scooby Doo.  I loved this character since I was a little boy.  IMO, he is funny, cute, and deep down brave despite his tendencies of acting like a goddamn coward.  I have loved most, if not all of his animated movies including Scooby Doo on Zombie Island.  His live action movies I did not mind too much.  To me, the best Scooby Doo voice actor is Don Messick.  I like what Frank Welker is doing, but in my heart Don Messick will always be Scooby Doo.  My favorite Scooby Doo cartoons are Scooby Doo Where Are You?, New Scooby Doo Movies, New Scooby Doo Mysteries, Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo Show, & Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated.  What's New Scooby Doo was solid IMO.  Scooby Doo is without a doubt a classic, a legend & and an icon in our pop culture.

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen,

The next character I am going to talk is:

Superman: The Man of Steel, Man of Tomorrow, Last Son of Krypton, Big Blue Boy Scout, & the Immortal Hero.

Yes, I am going to talk why I love Superman and what better picture to put on this post than a picture of the great Christopher Reeve donning the Red & Blue.  Superman has been a childhood hero and an all time favorite of mine since I was four years old.  When I first saw him in the Super Friends cartoon, I first thought he was awesome because of his powers & abilities.  But, as I began to have further experience with the character through watching the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) & the first two Christopher Reeve films (the last two sucked), and of course reading the comics, I really saw what makes Superman an awesome character.  It is his character, who he ACTUALLY as an individual, as a person, and as a man.  Superman is a type of person we all try to be.  He has showcased immense love, faith, compassion, hope, and optimism.  It may not be prefect, but is better than fear, chaos, and angst.  What really made me a fan of Superman was Christopher Reeve's portrayal of the character in the movies.  IMO, his portrayal brought Superman to life.  He did an outstanding in showcasing Superman's true character.  In my eyes, once I see him put on the suit, HE IS SUPERMAN!!!  Heck, IMO HE IS THE GREATEST SUPERMAN OF ALL TIME!!!  I did enjoy Tom Welling from Smallville.  I did like Brandon Routh from Superman Returns.  I did like & enjoy Dean Cain from Lois & Clark: The Adventures of Superman.  And, I do like the current Superman, Henry Cavill.  Throughout my experiences with Superman, I have remembered the quote "With great power, comes great responsibility."  The power a person has, the more challenges/obstacles he/she faces.  The amount of power a person has is not the most important thing people should focus, the thing people should really focus on is how people handle & control power and Superman is a person who does a great job in showcasing that.  Throughout our history,  we have not been able to control nor handle power.  If you recall from the episode "Only a Dream" of the Justice League series, Superman's greatest fear was not about him becoming too powerful, it was about him being unable to control his power.  In his final battle with Darkseid, Superman stated, "Throughout my life, I felt I lived in a world made out of cardboard, always trying to take constant care of not break something, to break someone even for a moment someone could die."  That statement showcases not only how powerful Superman is as a super powered being, but as a person.  That has been one of the biggest challenges, if not the biggest challenge Superman has to go through and live with.  True, instances of Superman holding back his power in many of his fights has caused him to get his ass kicked, but that doesn't really make Superman weak, lame nor a pushover.  That actually showcases how compassionate Superman is about other people more than his own life.  Tell you what, how messed up would it be if Superman went at full power in ALL OF HIS FIGHTS??!!  I'll tell you, he will be committing not only mass destruction, but more importantly mass murder.  The other challenges Superman goes is going up against villains like Lex Luthor, Brainiac, & Darkseid that are willing to make his life a living hell and at times cause him to develop homicidal tendencies, constantly being seen as an outcast despite all the great things he has done, like all superheroes, his secret identity being exposed to the public which of course would place his loved one in great danger, and of course dealing with the negativity that surrounds humanity (let's face it, animals do a better job in showcasing compassion than we do).  To put it short, Superman has always gone through situations that have challenged his morals, values, the strength of his state of mind and the way he handles inner conflict.  Superman is one of the many characters that has a stronger state of mind and does a better job of handling inner conflict.  However, that does not mean he is lame nor boring/not interesting.  A lot of the writers over the years have showcased that even though Superman possesses immense power and can increase his power to omnipotent levels over time, he is still mortal and in many ways human.  Superman is highly susceptible to human emotion like most fictional characters which is also one of the many things that make Superman very relatable.  Plus, it is true Superman can take a lot of damage, but if he takes too much damage, stays away from yellow sunlight for too long, he will eventually succumb to severe injuries and then be killed, plus he is vulnerable to his most famous weakness kryptonite and highly susceptible magical attacks like everyone else.  However, what I really love about Superman is his ability to lead.  He is not a type of person who has a mentality of an extremist.  He is far more than willing to put his differences aside for the greater good.  He has shown time and time again to be able to inspire people and command respect through his personality, charisma, and idealism.  That is what makes him the primus inter pares of the Justice League which is Latin for the first of all equals.  Personally, he is a guy I would vote for President.  Superman is a type of person that the world needs no matter what because there will always be evil lurking in our mists.  He is a type of person people look up to as an idol and role model.  I understand there will always be people who will never understand nor see on how he would beat certain characters in a fight and of course criticize him regardless what the writers do but there will always be fans like me who will spread the real truth about him.

Dr. Peter Benjamin Parker: The Amazing, Spectacular, & Sensation Spider-man

Yes ladies & gentlemen, I am going to tell you guys why I love Spider-man.  Spider-man is one of the many superheroes I have loved since I was 4 years old.  Heck, Spidey is my favorite character in the Marvel Universe, favorite superhero, & more importantly my favorite character in all of comics.  Unfortunately, Spidey has had it rough lately in terms of his popularity due to One More Day, Spider-man 3, and the mixed reception the Amazing Spider-man movie franchise has received.  Spider-man is a character that I have also looked up to and still do.  Yes, not everyone loves Spider-man, but I am not here to talk about the asshole, douchebag haters.  I first saw Spider-man when I watched the 1994 animated series.  Say whatever you want about FOX, but still to this day I love that show.  However, what really made me a fan of the character was the Sam Raimi franchise back in the early to mid 2000s.  For the most part, I loved the casting (with the exception of Topher Grace, don't get me started on that shit), action scenes, dark and adult tones, and the writing.  Tobey Maguire's portrayal of the character really gave a better understanding of the character.  I have held his portrayal of the character in my heart to this day.  I know there are people out there who still cannot get over Spider-man 3.  The first two entrees if I recall vastly increased Spider-man's popular back in the early to mid 2000s.  Now I would say he is kind of underrated because people now are too focused on Batman, Ironman, Wolverine, & Deadpool who are in many ways are being overused and overexposed.  Now, let's get to the point, the reason why I have loved Peter Parker for so long.  Well, a lot of it has to do with his relatability, but of course, you do not have relate to a fictional character to find him/her interesting.  I love Peter Parker for the man he was willing to become and chose to become.  Like many of us, he was raised by a loving family that instilled him with very powerful moral values.  Yes, Peter has a tendency of showing a lot of frustration and stress when dealing with similar situations many of us go through, but he finds a way to overcome them and move on with his life.  Of course, there people out there who think he is a "whiny little bitch" to which I say, like you don't whine and bitch about the shit going in your life."  And of course, there are people who refuse to accept and acknowledge that.  Personally, I think Spider-man has the greatest superhero alter-ego because in many ways, a lot of us are like Peter Parker, but, as I have said before people refuse to accept and acknowledge that.  Do I think his powers are underrated?  YES!!!  Sure, Spidey doesn't have the best abilities nor arsenal, but he gets the job done.  I always believed that the abilities of wall crawling and the sensing of danger were awesome powers.  I mean, imagine if we had the abilities to sense danger and scale rough surfaces like Spidey does.  True, Peter is not as tough, strong, nor fast as Superman, Hulk, Flash, & He-Man, but still his endurance, strength, and speed greatly exceeds ours.  Plus, like Batman, when given enough time he can come with a plan to take down opponents that far more powerful than him and who are better fighters than him.  Peter Parker is perfect example of an underdog, a person that is highly estimated that you would really like to root for.

I am glad you liked my reasons for liking Spider-man.  Now, the next character I'm going to talk about is:

Dr. Robert Bruce Banner aka The Incredible, Rampaging Hulk

When I was growing up, the Hulk was my favorite character.  Like the Hulk, I was exploited, misunderstood, and highly underestimated.  Plus, I do have a pretty nasty temper at times.  Do I still love the character?  Of course.  The Hulk is a combination of Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.  His alter-ego, Dr. Robert Bruce Banner I've always liked.  Yes, he has to constantly do his best to keep the Hulk under control or else he will destroy almost anything.  It is a miracle that since he grew up in a very abusive household that he did not become abusive as well.  Bruce Banner is a selfless, sacrificing, heroic person.  Banner's intelligence is so high, it can't be measured by any known intelligence test, making him one of the top three, top eight smartest people on the planet Earth.  The Hulk on the other hand, may seem "OP" due to the fact that he is one of the many fictional characters that can increase his power to omnipotent levels over time, but there is very powerful human side to his character.  Now, of course, there are multiple incarnations of the Hulk.  Just to name some there is the original Hulk the Grey Hulk or better known as Joe Fixit, the Savage Hulk, the Gravage Hulk, the Professor, the Mindless Hulk, the Maestro (evil version of the Hulk from alternate future where he rules the world with an iron fist), the Green Scar (World War Hulk), and the current Hulk, Doc Green.  There are versions of the Hulk that are one dimensional (mostly brawn than brain & vice versa), and there are versions of the Hulk that have the complete package (both brains and brawns).  To me, when the Hulk has both immense levels of raw power and intelligence, he is at his peak.  That was showcased in the World War Hulk storyline where he was able to outsmart and overpower almost every hero and villain he faced.  I've never allowed the level of the Hulk's powers and abilities to stop me from liking him and I never will.  I'm glad the Hulk is getting a lot of popularity due to the MCU, but thanks to the god-like status Batman has had for the last seven years, the Hulk has kind of fallen off the radar, plus the fact there are people who cannot handle fictional characters being very powerful.  The Hulk is a real classic IMO.  I really want to read some of Peter David's 12 year run on the character including Hulk: The End & Future Imperfect.  Personally, I think the next writer I want to do his/her take on the character would be Mark Millar.  He was great when did runs on Wolverine, and Superman.  I think he would have no problem understanding the character of the Hulk.

​I don't really have a problem of people telling me their reasons for liking these characters unless I feel it is very juvenile and childish.  But no, this is a section where only I tell why I like these characters.  The topic was inspired by a Youtuber known as TheMTVernonKid where he tells people why he likes these characters.  If you want to make a forum on why you like certain characters, then my friend go for it.  I hope this does not sound rude.
